Earlier today, we brought you the news that all future Star Wars games will be released under the Lucasfilm Games banner, but that's not the only franchise the studio owns. Now, it's been confirmed that we're getting a new Indiana Jones game from MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order) and Bethesda (The Elder Scrolls).

Details are few and far between, but Bethesda has Tweeted out a brief teaser video making it clear that we'll be donning Indy's fedora and making use of his whip in this title.

"A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development from our studio, [Machine Games], and will be executive produced by Todd Howard, in collaboration with [Lucasfilm Games]," reads the Tweet below. "It'll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news!"

It's clearly very, very early days for this Indiana Jones game, but this is really exciting.

MachineGames has plenty of experience when it comes to finding creative ways to take out Nazis, while Bethesda has published hit titles like Fallout and DOOM. The big question, of course, is whether Harrison Ford is being enlisted to voice Indiana Jones, and we certainly hope that's the case. The actor will be reprising the role in James Mangold's Indiana Jones 5, so it's certainly not outside the realm of possibility.

The first time you die there should be an achievement called Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Does anyone else think Indiana Jones is much better than Star Wars or am I the only one

@Will44482 - Some people will think that but Star Wars played an important part in my life growing up as a young kid. I would that the Indiana Jones Trilogy is better than the prequels and the Disney trilogy.

@Will44482 - Whenever the Han Solo or Indiana Jones debate came up, it was always an easy Indy for me.

Its Indy so that in itself makes it different from Tomb Raider and Uncharted but still wondering what else this will do to create its own space between those two.

@BlackBeltJones - I'm guessing this will be less dark than last couple installments of Uncharted or Tomb Raider. Maybe a more modern swashbuckler feel? IDK
