Grammy Award-winning performer Lizzo announced that she'd be lending her voice to the season 34 finale of The Simpsons last week, and we now have a first look at the two characters she'll play in the episode.

"Homer's Adventure Through the Windshield Glass" sounds like it's going to be one of the more bizarre instalments of the long-running animated comedy series, as the entire episode takes place in the few seconds that Homer goes flying through the windshield of his car.

"We had this idea for a long time, and it always felt like a pipe dream, but then we figured out a way to do it," executive producer Tim Long tells EW. "Then the issue from a story point of view is: 'Who is he going to talk to?' We thought, 'Well, his incredibly messy car is going to be filled with children's toys and stuff.' So she's playing this happy little elf doll that comes to life and becomes his spirit guide."

Lizzo voices the elf, but also appears as herself towards the end of the episode.

Of course, you can't invite Lizzo to be a guest star on The Simpsons and not have her belt out a tune, and Long also revealed that she'll be singing an original song called "It Was Marge, Bitch."

"I can't give you too much context without giving you too much story," says Long, who penned the song in question. "But it is really in her wheelhouse — and she sang the hell out of it."

The season 34 finale of The Simpsons airs this May.

The Simpsons was awesome until season 12. After that there's some sparingly good episodes but mostly bad ones.

I bet this episode will by as cringy as Lady Gaga's one.

I can confidently say I haven’t willingly watched a new episode of the Simpsons in nearly ten years. I just watch the first 6-7 seasons on repeat. The new stuff is just so bland and uninspired.

It boggles my mind that enough people are still watching the 34th season of the Simpsons to justify it continuing.

As a kid, I loved the first 10 or so seasons but haven’t thought about it in 20 years.

@mountainman - seasons 1-10 are near perfect, despite people saying 7 was the last great season. I definitely noticed the drop in season 11 and dropped it during season 12. I tried to watch a few new episodes and it's just PAINFUL. They all sound SO OLD.

Who is still watching this?!

@Waifuslayer - I don't remember which season exactly I stopped watching but it was probably between 10-12ish.

Someone has to be watching it if it's still going. But I don't know who. When it first appeared on Disney Plus, I did go back and watch some of the classics though - the Frank grimes episode, the one where Homer gets obese so he can work from home, and some others.

It's interesting how Simpsons got eclipsed by Family Guy, which got eclipsed by South Park and so many others.

Crazy how South Park is still going strong after all these years. Their current story mocking Harry and Meagan is great.

@mountainman - I dropped it somewhere along the Bible stories or Nsync episodes. I vaguely remember an Africa Blood Diamond episode that was painful and that might have been it.

Yeah they tried to copy Family Guy and it never recovered. I gotta catch up on South Park. I don't think I saw the second half of the whole Good Adult Cartman story.

@Waifuslayer - I admittedly haven't watched the entire South Park run, but some recent seasons have done good stuff - like member berries, COVID, PC principle, and the current season's story.

The show went through a terrible period, but I have to say, the writing has improved over the past couple of years. It's nowhere close to being as good as it was back in the day, but you'll get the occasional funny ep.

Saw the article and said to myself "ok we're about to get "Simpsons hasn't been good in years". "How do people still watch it" "How is this comic book movie news" "lizzo hate"

3 out of 4 isn't bad, but 4 is coming

@Waifuslayer - nope, don't watch it at all. The posting patterns here are just laughably predictable

Lizzo?

@AnthonyVonGeek - plus the Lizzo design looks thin I wonder if the Simpsons will eventually be called “fatphobic” for making her thinner then what she really is.
