With a little over a month to go, Warner Bros. has released a brand new trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy, which sees the Tune Squad team-up with 4x NBA Champion and current Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James to take on a dangerous new AI villain (Don Cheadle) to rescue James' son (Ceyair J. Wright) while also saving themselves from possible deletion.

Along with the official trailer, the studio has also shared a number of new promotional stills as well as a new theatrical one-sheet, featuring the stars of the film and their new high-flying, six-foot-nine, 250-pound teammate.

In addition to James, the human supporting cast will consist of Academy Award-nominee Don Cheadle (Avengers: Endgame) as Al-G, Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery) as Kamiyah James, Ceyair J. Wright (American Skin) as Darius James, Cedric Joe as Dom James, and Harper Leigh Alexander as Xosha James.

The voice cast is toplined by Looney Tunes Cartoons stars Jeff Bergman and Eric Bauza voicing Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, respectively, with Primetime Emmy-winner Zendaya (Spider-Man: No Way Home) voicing Lola Bunny, Bob Bergen voicing Porky Pig/Tweety, Jim Cummings voicing Tasmanian Devil, Gabriel Iglesias voicing Speedy Gonzales, and Candi Milo voicing Granny. Bergman and Bauza will also voice additional roles.

Meanwhile, the villainous basketball team known as the Goon Squad will be voiced by Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson as Wet-Fire, Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis as The Brow, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard as Chronos, Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi as White Mamba, and Los Angeles Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike as Arachnneka.

Fellow NBA and WNBA superstars, including Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving, Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma, and Los Angeles Sparks forward Chiney Ogwumike, are all expected to make cameo appearances.

The legendary Michael Jordan, who starred in the original film and is widely regarded the greatest basketball player of all-time, will also appear in some capacity, "but not in the way you would expect it."

Malcolm D. Lee (Night School) is directing while Ryan Coogler (Black Panther) is producing the upcoming sequel.

Space Jam: A New Legacy bounces into theaters and on HBO Max on July 16.

Welcome to the Jam! Basketball champion and global icon LeBron James goes on an epic adventure alongside timeless Tune Bugs Bunny with the animated/live-action event “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” from director Malcolm D. Lee and an innovative filmmaking team including Ryan Coogler and Maverick Carter. This transformational journey is a manic mashup of two worlds that reveals just how far some parents will go to connect with their kids. When LeBron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.’s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of profes-sional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. It’s Tunes versus Goons in the high-est-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine LeBron’s bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself. The ready-for-action Tunes destroy convention, supercharge their unique talents and surprise even “King” James by playing the game their own way.

They probably weren’t expecting LeBron to have been bounced so soon from NBA PlaYoffs.

Oh well...

@IronGenesis - why? The King's popularity hasn't decreased because he's been eliminated early in the playoffs for the 1st time in his 18yr career.

@kitheka - I think he meant moreso that it helps from a marketing perspective to have the star of your movie competing in a highly watched, widely popular event as your movie marketing ramps up. Him being home just takes away a little bit of that, which probably wasn't in the marketing team's plans.

@IronGenesis - What, you want them to include all the good stuff in a trailer? Then you'd complain about everything being spoiled in a trailer!

@Dabs - well at this point...what they have shown hasn’t moved the needle at all for me.

Looney Tunes were never meant to be in 3D animation. Looks off. Other than that, some of the jokes landed, but most did not. But I guess it wasn't made for me so c'est la vie

I'm optimistic but this looks like trouble. And I mean trouble with a capital T and that rhymes with P and that stands for pool. (Sorry I've got the music man soundtrack stuck in my head today)

That 'shoot the ball' felt like a classic Looney Tunes joke.

@DrAmerica - that's why I said early post season exit. Usually when he enters playoffs, it upto the finals. That 1st year in LA he didn't make the playoffs due to injury.
