Disney+ will finally arrive in the UK on March 24th, but there were some concerns that The Simpsons might be M.I.A. Well, it's now been confirmed that over 600 episodes are coming to the streaming service!

There's been speculation for weeks now that the UK version of Disney+ won't feature The Simpsons due to the classic animated series airing on both Channel 4 and Sky in the country. Needless to say, that upset a lot of people, especially when Disney is asking for £5.99 per month from fans for a service which has come under fire due to plans to release The Mandalorian on a weekly basis.

That's a big ask considering the fact UK fans have already been waiting a long time to see the first live-action Star Wars TV series, but there's some good news today as it's been confirmed that over 600 episodes of The Simpsons will indeed be on Disney+.

Disney and Sky recently signed a new content deal which would benefit both parties, and with the series set to remain on Sky as well as Disney+, The Simpsons is now being branded a "co-exclusive." For those of you who live outside the UK, Sky is a subscription service which offers access to a large number of channels, but the likes of Amazon Prime and Netflix (not to mention the expansion of "Freeview" television) has made it less than essential in recent years.

As a result, The Simpsons being on Disney+ is definitely a big draw, as is the ability to watch any episode, any time. Disney is no doubt glad to share this news too, especially after being forced to cancel a recent launch event due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Here's the official announcement from Disney+!

I watched that Marvel episode last weekend. The concept seemed fine, but nothing in it made me laugh.

@SmokingMan - THIS. I refuse to watch cropped "HD" Frankensteined episodes. Thankfully I have the first 10 seasons on dvd so I'm fine. But it's so sad that a lot of kids will watch the greatest tv series of the 20th century in a bastardised format.

Trying to see how far I can go. I’m Up to season 8 and just hit my first real dud of an episode. But it was bookended by some killer episodes so I’m going to keep going.

@Stinkor1 - Good for you! It's such a great show. What was the dud, may I ask?

Disney buying Fox probably makes in MORE likely that the Simpsons won't be cancelled for decades.
