Video Games: UNCHARTED Creative Director Seemingly Joins Crystal Dynamics On THE AVENGERS PROJECT

Toasting to the New Year, Shaun Escayg, the creative director on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, announced he is leaving Naughty Dog after seven years with the studio.

Escayg didn't flat out announce where he was heading, but in a post on Instagram, he strongly alluded to where his next adventure will take place. Escayg simply posted the Avengers logo, suggesting he will be working on Square Enix's The Avengers Project, which is currently being developed by Crystal Dynamics.

Shortly after teasing his upcoming project, Escayg posted a heartfelt farewell message on Twitter: "Seven years ago I joined the talented team at Naughty Dog on a project still in its infancy, The Last Of Us. Well, the rest is history. Left Behind, Uncharted 4 were fleeting and Uncharted The Lost Legacy pushed my creative growth even further- I will miss all my dogs."

If Escayg is indeed joining Crystal Dynamics, his experience at Naughty Dog - a studio known for strong narrative in video games - suggests The Avengers Project is shaping up to be more of a story-driven video game.

This is going to be fricking great. I'm really hoping for an open world RPG, personally. It is about time Marvel does something huge in the videogame world.

@Menks123 - I would personally like something similar to to the marvel Lego games with relastic graphics. Just a range of characters you can play. Fly around as vision. Leap with hulk, etc.

@Buckster10 - Exactly. Red Dead is my top 3 favorite games of all time. The story, graphics, characters and side quests...just amazing. Imagining a like that or GTA but as an Avenger, holy shit.

@Menks123 - You can freely enter Avengers Tower or The Sanctum Santorum, stop random crime and then take on the bigger threats! That would be fantastic. But it has to be done well (I remember that old X Box Superman game that was "open world" and it was pretty bad). And no microtransactions!!!
