Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been a huge hit for Marvel Studios, and according to the MCU's new Black Panther, Letitia Wright, a third movie is likely already in the works. Find more details here...

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hasn't quite managed to find the same level of financial success as its predecessor, but lower box office takings due to the fallout from the pandemic mean it was always facing an uphill battle. Still an undeniable critical and commercial success, we're not exactly surprised to learn a third movie is on the way.

That's according to star Letitia Wright, anyway, as the actress shared an update on where things stand with a third movie during a red carpet interview at last night's Golden Globes.

"I think it's already in the works," she said when asked about a possible Black Panther 3"You know, we just had a terrific two years of just bringing it out and everybody coming together to support it. We need a little bit of a break, we need to regroup, and Ryan [Coogler] needs to get back into the lab so it's going to take a while, but really excited for you guys to see that."

Asked if she can definitely confirm plans for a third instalment, the actress responded, "I always try to do positive words and positive thinking and I believe that good words manifest, so I'm manifesting a Black Panther 3. Why not?"

So, we're not going to take this as official confirmation, but it certainly sounds promising.

Ryan Coogler is still rumoured to be the frontrunner to helm Avengers: Secret Wars, so another Black Panther movie is unlikely to happen during the Multiverse Saga. Even if those reports are incorrect, it might still be a struggle to get any sort of threequel written and shot before that finale unless work has indeed already begun.

Are you excited to see more of Shuri as the MCU's new Black Panther?

She was not very good in the movie. Namor stole the show.

I manifest T'Challa‘s son, T'Challa, growing fast to be the new black Panther.

@slickrickdesigns - I'd rather see more Shuri as the Black Panther than T'Challa II actually.

@Batman91 - Yeah, since day one it felt like a weird call to name his son T'Challa. It just comes off as Marvel only doing it so they could still have a T'Challa Black Panther.

If DC had done this with Superman after Doomsday killed him, and said he had a son we didnt know about between Man of Steel and BvS and he is also named Clark that will be the new Superman, people here would have gone nuts.

@CorndogBurglar - it’s about execution and trust in the brand Dc has failed in both of those
CorndogBurglar

@ShimmyShimmyYA - I agree, DC has failed. But having trust in a brand doesn't make the same decision good in one movie but bad in another.

@ShimmyShimmyYA - so they can make bs moves as long as there is "trust in the brand"? No. Trust in the brand isn't gonna excuse poor writing choices. And it hasn't with marvel. Just look at that audience score for she hulk. Not to mention none of their phase 4 movies cracked a billion outside of the one movie that was actually a Sony movie. And it's not like they didn't have their chance. Two of them were sequels to movies that did break a billion. And there were movies capable of breaking a billion released around the same time, so covid isn't an excuse.

@slickrickdesigns - That's a whole different character. Toussaint. Not T'Challa son of T'Chaka. A shoehorned in character specifically made to shut up the Recast T'Challa people.

@CorndogBurglar - They shoehorned in the character after #RecastT'Challa went viral. Just to shut up that crowd, which garnered A LOT of traction, and converts.

@Origame - there’s been 3 movies total since Covid that broke a billion . And most marvel movies prior to IW and endgame didn’t crack a billion

Using a billion as the benchmark is so stupid because a billion isn’t normal it never was

Secondly, trust in brand allows for patience for payoff by the audience, which clearly y’all lack since you want endgame level mcu for everything when that’s just a small speck of the franchise . Let these things play out and if they’re bad then they’re bad but jumping to conclusions based on nothing

@Origame - EXACLTLY, Covid is NO excuse for failure here.

@ShimmyShimmyYA - ...what are you talking about? There are 4 movies that broke a billion since covid. No way home, jurassic world, top gun maverick, and avatar 2. There were 3 this past year that broke a billion. And by phase 3 the mcu was CONSISTENTLY breaking a billion. It's become normal to marvel.

Second, dude when has a stupid move the mcu made been rendered not stupid from a followup film? I don't remember the scene where Tony peeing in his suit led to the avengers breaking up in civil war. It's a stupid scene. And we know what it's setting up, a potential future where this new tchalla becomes black panther. You're an idiot if you think it's still just speculation.

ShimmyShimmyYA - 1/11/2023, 11:51 AM
@Origame - when did I say it’s speculation of course that’s what the scene was for

You’re the one that’s always on here complaining about how they are gonna run off with shuri as black panther forever

Also no about phase 3 here’s the numbers

CW 1.1 billion
Dr strange 670 million
GoTG 2 863 million
Spider man 880
Thor 854
BP 1.38 billion
IW 2 billion
ant man 2 620 mill
CM 1.12 billion
Endgame 2.7 billion
Spider man 2 - 1.132 billion

Nearly half the phase didn’t make a billion
Origame
Origame - 1/11/2023, 4:01 PM
@ShimmyShimmyYA - "nearly half" so most made a billion. Sounds pretty consistent 🤣
Origame
Origame - 1/11/2023, 4:04 PM
@ShimmyShimmyYA - also, for the speculation, you said "jumping to conclusions". What is that other than stating we're speculating? It's a dumb choice now and will remain dumb, even if someone later on does something cool with it. But let's face it, all they're gonna do is make him the black panther when shuri is done.

@ShimmyShimmyYA - how's that trust working out for Hulk, Thor and Wanda?
TheWalkingCuban

I liked the movie but after Katt Williams said what he did, I’m back to my old stance: they should’ve recast. Closest thing to a black superman dies in a movie? Bruh. The actor died. The character didn’t have to. THREE SPIDERMEN! Even a black one that ain’t been “REALized” yet. One T’Challa? Come on man. Thanks Katt, ya crazy cabbage ya

@DarthOmega - well I did like black vs brown, since blood in blood out is one of my favorite movies and my sisters like black guys. But I like white gurls! Where’s white Tiger? “Probly out there being Hispanic” dang
