Following Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman's memorable Venom run, Marvel Comics' resident master of horror, Al Ewing, and titan of terror Ram V are teaming up with The Ultimates artist Bryan Hitch for an all-new saga featuring the iconic symbiote.

Described as a mind-bending and gut-wrenching tale of symbiosis that chronicles two journeys, the series follows Eddie Brock into space to fulfil his new duties as King in Black, and his son Dylan Brock while he tackles his new role as a superhero.

The two adventures will intertwine to create a singular and epic new vision, and a first taste of what’s to come is revealed in the all-new Venom #1 trailer, featuring never-before-seen artwork.

"When my editors at Marvel reached out about taking on Venom alongside Al Ewing and Bryan Hitch, I was not prepared for the kind of creative thrill it has been ever since," Ram V says.

"This story is going to expand and push the symbiote narrative and lore in even more unexpected and fantastic directions," the artist adds. "It is also an utter thrill having the sort of call and response mechanic I’ve had with a writer like Al and an artist of Bryan’s caliber. Fans and new readers, strap in—you ain’t seen nothin’ yet."

Twice the terrifying symbiotes. Twice the terrific writers. One amazing artist. Venom #1 sounds like a must-read on October 27, and there's bound to be a lot of interest in the series following the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage early next month (our review goes live on September 30).

Ram V and Al Ewing are quite good writers.Immortal Hulk,Future State Swamp Thing and Justice League Dark all have good horror elements,maybe they can bring that to Venom.

Venom (specifically the symbiotes) has pretty much been ruined since Bendis on Guardians, and frankly unless there's a full scale reboot I just don't see it being fixed.

They infest and destroy planets and move on! No wait, they're space cops! No wait, they're bits of a space God! I swear they've heel-face turned more often than Paul Wight.

@Reeds2Much - The reality is that symbiotes just aren’t that prime for a continuous story but Venom is so popular they keep backing themselves into a corner having to come up with new stories for what are a fantastic yet ultimately shallow set of characters. Less is more with some of these things but money is the great motivator

@Reeds2Much -
I hate how Venom has become more of a gimmick than an actual character at this point. Originally, it was the combined personalities of the symbiote and Eddie Brock that created Venom. Then he became a legacy character. Now, every single character in the Marvel Universe has been Venom and there are entire events devoted to multitudes of major characters becoming Venomised.

This was a problem on the Ultimate Spider-Man show and in other media as well. Until they take it back to basics and make Venom a singular character again (and stick to it), I find it hard to care about Venom in the comics anymore. Venom is interesting as an individual, not as an aesthetic that can be slapped onto any character (or many characters) for sales.

@Darkknight2149 -

I feel more at peace knowing I am not the only person who feels this way about the Venom Symbiote.
