Can you imagine us having as many Batman movies, but us just now finally getting a film where Bruce wears the iconic cowl for the first time? Seems crazy to me this iconic cowl for Wolverine is only now being used. Seems like a no brainer to print money sticking this bad ass on the big screen.

IAmAHoot - 5/5/2024, 8:44 AM
@TheVandalore - Are you just saying that cause Wolverine's mask looks like two Batman's kissing???
dragon316
dragon316 - 5/5/2024, 1:46 PM
@TheVandalore - plenty comics wolverine does not wear mask old man Logan, age if apocalypse wolverine, patch , weapon x, wolverine is still with and without mask wolverine with all black leather in X-men comics , wolverine does stuff in his own series he never wears costume he does best what he does wolverine can himself with out mask he have no secret identity unlike batman who needs mask who have secret identity in comics it’s almost useless almost batman whole villains know who he is under mask half villains enemy’s of batman who do know who he under mask keep it to them self

@TheVandalore - Batman you recognize the cowl and cape first, Wolverine you need the claws that’s it. Fans bitched and moaned about the suit yet showed up for 20 years to see him, it was never that much of a loss compared to other things

The cowl 🤤

Nice!

Would be great if we finally got an official shot of Hugh in the cowl though. There as so many other things that have been revealed that would have been better as a suprise for the movie, but the cowl is no secret with all the promo art coming out...

It's funny giving me a funny feeling that it's going to be 90% vfx when he's wearing it in the movie. 🫤
Fogs
Fogs - 5/5/2024, 6:24 AM
@UniqNo - If he wears it for more than 5 min I couldn't care less if it's practical or vfx, tbh.
UniqNo
UniqNo - 5/5/2024, 6:37 AM
@Fogs - if it's done well yeah...but then there was this fiasco that was terribly bad vfx....

Yet the vfx was the smallest issue in that hot mess.

@UniqNo - done well can be made cheap without use stupid cgi mask marvel and hollywood have gone lazy relying on computers to much less practical stuff which is cheaper look better realistic what made Jurassic park good have cgi dinosaur have practical effects we don’t get no more even if it can be made less cost using computer we still don’t get that
UniqNo
UniqNo - 5/5/2024, 2:46 PM
@Magus - not for that shot. I can't rememeber if it was one of the making of docs I watched but certain shots of Thor's helmet, and I think most of postman's helmet were done with VFX.
Magus
Magus - 5/6/2024, 12:26 PM
@UniqNo - I believe only the shot where it collapses is VFX but I could be wrong.

I don’t think the general masses, who are unaware of his true stature, will accept a comic-accurate short Wolverine.

That said…

@dragon316 - logans size is a fundamental part of his character, like puck or colossus

The cowl will protect Logan against Cassandra, like Magneto's helmet.

Naturally they won't show you that on the trailers.

I still think there are shots in the trailer either edited or alternately shot, where wolverine doesnt have the cowl but he will in the Final Cut in theaters. They are deliberately hiding it.

I’m betting the slo no scene since I also think they’ve CGI’d out the wolverine and Deadpool variants that are gonna be walking beside them.

"The trades have confirmed that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, with Wesley Snipes, James Marsden, Famke Janssen, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Dafne Keen, Channing Tatum, Blake Lively and, as we mentioned above, even singer Taylor Swift among those rumoured to make an appearance."

We can add Josh Brolin as Thanos and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron-Man among those rumored to be in the movie (even if only in the post-credit scene), even if I don't really believe it myself.

Looks awesome. I want a Marvel Legends figure in this suit. Preferably one with the sleeves torn off, though, and alternate heads. One with the cowl, and one without.

@DrReedRichards Just finished reading my first X-Men run ever - Age of Apocalypse.

Onto House of X now - I've gotta say, this run impressed me, Magnus is absolutely my favorite interpretation of Magneto, rivalling Doom's characterization. Now I understand why people agree that X-men '97 is the best comic book adaptation for the X-Men, it's outstanding.

@GaruVonDoom -

I strongly urge you to try giving the Dark Phoenix Saga a shot. People often try to undermine it as "baby's first X-Men", but it's a classic for a reason. It really is incredibly pivotal as a trying moment for the team and their relationships.

Personally, I'm a fan of AvX and Onslaught as my two favourite X-Men arcs, but each in their own time. Onslaught is a good follow up for Apocalypse, actually, since you were just now done with it.
