Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Once Upon a Deadpool were all hits for Fox, and with the latter proving that the Merc with the Mouth can work in a PG-13 setting, there's no excuse for Wade Wilson not to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. Marvel Studios will have to introduce mutants first, of course, and there's still no indication of when and where that will happen.
We do know that Ryan Reynolds has met with Marvel Studios, while the casting of J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson and Jamie Foxx as Electro proves that Kevin Feige isn't against the idea of reusing actors.
Yesterday was Reynolds' birthday, and he's shared a light-hearted update on the status of the long-delayed, long-overdue Deadpool 3. As you can say, the actor says, "Deadpool 3 is practically writing itself." This would seem to be a joke about the fact that there's been no progress on the threequel, but for all we know, work could secretly be taking place.
Whatever happens, the next Deadpool movie is bound to be a hit, and it hopefully won't be too long until Marvel Studios commits to doing something with Reynolds and his most famous big screen role.
