Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrived on Disney+ yesterday, and providing you have a box of tissues handy, we'd definitely recommend watching the movie if you haven't already.
We will, however, be getting into spoilers here so you've been warned!
In the threequel's closing moments, Star-Lord returns to Earth and reunites with his grandfather, while Rocket leads a new team of Guardians. For those of you curious how all that fits into the MCU's broader timeline, we now have a better idea courtesy of the streamer.
According to Disney+, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 takes place after Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania but before Secret Invasion. Needless to say, we'd be very interested to learn what Peter Quill thinks about President Ritson's declaration of war on any non-humans inhabiting Earth.
With any luck, that will be touched on in the Legendary Star-Lord project James Gunn has previously confirmed is in the works.
However, taking to Threads, the filmmaker - who is now in charge of DC Studios and will next helm Superman: Legacy - reiterated that he won't be stepping behind the camera for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4.
Gunn also shrugged off the suggestion that the MCU's Gamora Variant will eventually follow in her predecessor's footsteps by becoming a Guardian. The writer and director has previously said he considered it, but ultimately decided to give Thanos' daughter a home within the Ravagers.
