GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE Trailer Brings Ghosts Back Into The Real World...Along With A Familiar Face!

These kids ain't afraid of no ghosts! Although that's probably because they don't even know they exist, which is evident from what we see in this first trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Interestingly, it's also revealed that spirits haven't been seen for thirty years, even though 1980s New York was pretty much The Walking Dead according to Paul Rudd's character.

A super quick shout out to the folks over at DeadEntertainment.com for the slightly altered version of the poster that they put together and we used in the banner! They did a bit of tweaking with colors and blending that really adds some life to the poster! Maybe something for Sony to look into?!

However, things change when Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) uncover their grandfather's secret stash of Ghost-busting gear (he was clearly an original member) and ghosts once again start roaming the Earth.

Look closely in the final few moments of this teaser and you'll notice that they appear to be chasing down the iconic Slimer and there are actually a lot of fun Easter Eggs in this first look at the movie ahead of its release next summer.

This is clearly a very different beast to the female-led 2016 reboot both visually and tonally. That's no bad thing based on the reaction to that effort from Paul Feig, of course, and it looks like this sequel will be a fun ride. After all, Bill Murray's narration makes it apparent that this is connected to the original films, and that's obviously going to be welcomed by fans.

Conspicuous by its absence? The classic Ghostbusters theme!

I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan and this trailer confirmed my hype so much more! I cannot wait to see this movie! this may be the first movie I see on a Thursday night opening! Job well done!

That’s definitely a teaser... I was waiting for it to really get going, and then it ended. Still, very intriguing... especially since they didn’t try to sell any comedy!

I hope it's funnier than what the trailer makes it out to be.

Personally, I don't get the hate for the Kristen Wiig version. I thought it was funny.

BTW, if you haven't watched "The Movies that Made Us" on Netflix, check it out. I watched the Ghostbusters episode last night.

What a disasterous first teaser.

Way too serious
No classic music
No original cast appearances

Ghostbusters is such a fascinating phenomenon. It has seemingly evolved into thsi classic of American films.

But in truth the original at its core was just a silly Saturday Night Live Nonsense Skit put into two hours.

This trailer plays like they beleive their own greatness to a damaging degree.

@BountyCipher - I think there is something to be said that nothing in the Ghostbusters World has worked since the original.

It was lightning in a bottle that the people who made it weren’t even aware of the response it woudl have.

It’s just not working now.
