The Invisible Man is set to take down Sonic the Hedgehog at the North American box office this weekend with an expected $26 million - $27 million opened weekend. Things started off slowly for the horror movie with a $1.6 million debut on Thursday, and a $9.9 million Friday, but positive word of mouth is clearly helping (you can find our review by clicking here).

According to Deadline, the audience for this one has mostly been made up of males over the age of 25, but a lot of women have also come out to support the Elizabeth Moss-led release.

The Invisible Man comes after a string of poorly received horror movies in 2020, such as The Grudge and Brahms: The Boy II. With a stellar 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, this film is a big win for Universal Pictures and Blumhouse, and it's easy to imagine it spawning a series of sequels moving forward.

After all, it did only cost $7 million to produce!

In related box office news, Sonic the Hedgehog now sits at #2 with $15.2 million, while The Call of the Wild has slipped to third place with $12.8 million. Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey, meanwhile, has slipped down to sixth place with a $3.9 million weekend and a total domestic haul of $78.5 million.

Saw it yesterday. Really good movie, plenty of suspense... But my problem with it was the ending. Regardless, this movie only had a 9 million dollar budget, so that alone is applause worthy

Well deserved - both the praise it got and the box office it's about to get.

This was really scary, intense and a well-directed horror film. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The tension building was incredible.

With a budget of only $7 million, it will make plenty of profit.

The Invisible Man was really solid, a nice thriller and good foundation to build upon for a Dark Universe. I also saw Brahms: The Boy II. Easily the worst movie if seen all year, probably last year too. Complete waste of time, boring, zero suspense, nothing happens until like the final twenty minutes and they completely ignore the twist ending of the first one by just making the doll possessed. Hated it with a passion.

Good know it's a solid movie. I want to check it out. Maybe when I'm off again.
I saw My Hero Academia 2 Saturday because it was the only time I could catch it during it's limited run in my area and I was free that day. I liked it. Worth checking out if you're a fan. Like Broly last year it was packed. Lucky for me I got my ticket earlier last week so I got a decent seat this time around.

It was okay, a few plot holes and some dumb choices made by characters. Their was some pretty cool and unexpected moments but overall i'd have to give it a 7
