After just over a week on general release, Legendary and Warner Bros.' MonsterVerse mash, Godzilla vs. Kong, has already taken in more at the domestic box office than any other movie since the pandemic began.
The Adam Wingard-directed action adventure now sits at $60 million, surpassing Christopher Nolan's Tenet, which finished its run with $58.5 million. GVK is expected to hit $69/70 million by Monday.

This is obviously a very positive sign for the preservation of the theatrical experience, as it means people are flocking to the big screen even when they have the option of watching from the comfort of their own home on HBO Max.
In related news, two more posters for the movie have found their way online, giving us an awesome new look at the real villain of the piece, Mechagodzilla.

Starring Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Shun Oguri, Jessica Henwick and Brian Tyree Henry, Godzilla Vs. Kong pits the two famous monsters against each other in an epic battle. Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok) and Max Borenstein (The Terror) wrote the screenplay.
