Emily Blunt In Talks To Join Tom Cruise In ALL YOU NEED IS KILL

The actress could star alongside Tom Cruise in Warner Bros.' upcoming adaptation of the science fiction graphic novel All You Need Is Kill, which will be directed by Doug Liman.

Variety reports that Warner Bros. is in discussions with Emily Blunt (The Adjustment Bureau, The Devil Wears Prada) for the female lead in All You Need Is Kill, a science fiction thriller starring Tom Cruise. If negotiations go well, Blunt will play a fellow soldier who fights alongside Cruise in a war against aliens. The film, based on a Japanese graphic novel, will be directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity). Erwin Stoff, Tom Lassally and Jason Hoffs are producing through 3 Arts Entertainment. Dante Harper penned the script with executive producer Joby Harold, who is working on a rewrite.

There’s one thing worse than dying. It’s coming back to do it again and again… When the alien Gitai invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many raw recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor and sent out to kill. Keiji dies on the battlefield, only to find himself reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. On the 158th iteration though, he sees something different, something out of place: the female soldier known as the Bitch of War. Is the Bitch the key to Keiji’s escape, or to his final death?

This sounds different. She was my top choice for Black Widow, but I wouldn't mind seeing her play another character in a Marvel or DC movie.
