[RETRACTION] Frances McDormand's representitives have reached out to CBM and stated that McDormand is not affiliated with the project in any capacity. That Hashtag Show has apprently been contacted as well and updated their piece accordingly.

[ORIGINAL STORY] Another scoop from That Hashtag Show here, and this time it's some major casting news relating to Legendary's Godzilla Vs. Kong movie.

According to the site, Academy Award-winner Frances McDormand (Three Billboards, Fargo, Darkman) has joined director Adam Wingard's highly-anticipated Monster-Verse movie in an unspecified role.

Godzilla Vs. Kong is set to stomp into theaters in 2020, and although specific plot details have not been released yet, it's probably safe to say that the story will revolve around two giant monsters kicking the crap out of each other.

I hope she returns to the role of National Intelligence director (which she also portrayed so gloriously in Transformers: Dark of the Moon)

@ExpertlyMediocr - Agreed. It was really weird tho, seeing her in Three Billboards and then (earlier) in Dark of the Moon.

Let’s be real, she’s probably going to be wasted just like Bryan Cranston

They also added Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2) a few weeks back and that was never reported on here. Might wanna add it to the article, @RorMachine.

I would be fine if they had no human characters in this lol. The writing and forced stuffing in of the humans is what dragged Godzilla down for me.

Nice. Say what you will about these new Godzilla/Kong movies, the casts they put together are [frick]ing incredible.

That's great and all, but why haven't they replaced Adam Wingard as director? "The Blair Witch" is OK at best and "Death Note" (2017) is a long since proven failure with critics and audiences, but Wingard is still in charge of one of the biggest event films of the decade. "Man of Steel" and "Batman v Superman" are two of the most underrated Comic Book Movies of all time, and Zack Snyder was unjustifiably punished for it, yet you still haven't replaced Adam Wingard on "Kong vs Godzilla"? Why not, and when are you going to apologise to Zack Snyder for tossing him to the curb while you keep this other guy on?

@SisterSunday52 - Do you really need to bring batman v superman into everything?
