SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Star Zachary Levi Under Fire After Describing SAG-AFTRA Strike Rules As "Dumb"

Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Zachary Levi is on quite the roll. Between some eyebrow-raising social media activity and the fact he's been blaming everyone but himself for the DCEU sequel's failure, many feel the actor is becoming increasingly insufferable. 

Now, a video from last month's Manchester Comic-Con in the UK has started doing the rounds on social media. In that, Levi laments the fact he's not allowed to talk about his work on projects like Shazam!, Chuck, and Tangled because of the SAG-AFTRA strike.

"I'm not allowed to talk about...this is so dumb," he says. "I'm not allowed to talk about any of my previous work."

“I'm not allowed to talk about movies that I may be a superhero in. I'm not allowed to talk about TV shows that I may have been a nerd who worked at a Best Buy. I'm not allowed to talk about any animated princess movies that I was fantastic in - as the best prince ever! I'm not allowed to talk about those things."

More of a bad joke than outright criticism, the fact Levi has even poked fun at the strike rules has not been well-received by his fellow actors. It also appears to contradict an impassioned speech he recently posted on Instagram, explaining why it's right for actors to strike (with many now questioning how he could have meant that after calling the process "dumb").

Like Arrow star Stephen Amell, it seems Levi never expected these very public comments to find their way online. While it's understandable that not every actor is happy with the strikes, big stars like this sharing their annoyance or poking fun at the process doesn't quite sit right.

After all, many actors are striking simply so they can afford health insurance, an issue the star of two DCEU blockbusters (even if one of them was a box office flop) doesn't exactly need to worry about.
