MADAME WEB Concept Art Reveals Detailed Look At Best Part Of The Movie: Those Comic-Accurate Costumes!

New Madame Web concept art reveals a detailed look at the costumes worn in the movie by the title character, Julia Cornwall/Spider-Woman, and Mattie Franklin/Spider-Girl. Check them out after the jump...

Madame Web hasn't exactly webbed up much in the way of critical acclaim or box office records since opening last Wednesday, but it would be unfair to say nothing about Sony's latest Marvel movie worked.

For example, while their screentime was limited, the costumes worn by Madame Web's leads looked pretty spectacular in action. Thanks to artist Imogene Chayes, we now have concept art featuring the title character (Dakota Johnson), Spider-Woman (Sydney Sweeney), and Spider-Girl (Celeste O'Connor).

"I had an absolute blast working on this project," Chayes says. "How can designing super suits for a gang of hot ladies not be fun? I got to work with one of my all time favorite costume designers, Ngila Dickson, who really gave me the room to play with all of the style lines for these suits."

Describing Spider-Man as her "favorite," the artist added, "We decided to stick with her bold, graphic style from the comics."

As for Mattie, Chayes calls her "such a fun character to work on" and explains, "I had a particularly fun time working with Ngila to flesh out the style lines for this suit, as well as giving her a cheeky attitude." Unfortunately, we don't currently have any designs for Araña.

Like Morbius, we haven't seen much in the way of merchandise for Madame Web. That movie at least got a Hot Toys figure, but it appears there are no plans for any of the Spider-Women to get their own action figures, a surprise given the increased popularity of female-focused toys in recent years.

Meanwhile, in another universe...In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines.

The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures...if they can all survive a deadly present.

The movie stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott.

Madame Web is now playing in theaters worldwide.

I think the acting from Dakota Johnson was the worst part of this film. The writing was the second worst part and not actually having the spider girls get their powers and do super hero shet at the end was the third worst part. The three girls actually decent actors but they weren’t given much to do other than scary movie dumb girl tropes. They should’ve gotten bit by Ezekiel’s spider by the end of the film or at least in some way Madame Webb should’ve helped them receive their powers to defeat Ezekiel.

Madame Web just works better as an older lady, her being old added to her whole wise demeanor like shes been around and saw some shit.. dakota johnson as madame web just gives me fifty shades of spidey vibes

The best part of the movie took place in a 2-minute vision?

It’s absolutely amazing how incompetent Sony is with these movies. We all expected this to be bad, but it’s quite a feat for them to release something even worse than we all expected.
