SPIDER-MAN 2: Hot Toys Finally Gives The Superior Spider-Man His Own Figure Based On Video Game Sequel

At the end of 2012, Doctor Octopus finally managed to score the ultimate victory over Spider-Man when he trapped Peter Parker's mind in his dying body. With that, we bid farewell to the hero and were forced to welcome the Superior Spider-Man, a version of Peter inhabited by the evil Otto Octavius.

As time passed, Doc Ock went from villain to anti-hero and Peter eventually returned. For some fans, it remains one of the most despised eras in Spider-Man's history; others, meanwhile, love the story and this interpretation of Spidey.

If you fall into that latter camp, we're sure you'll be pleased to know that Hot Toys will release a Superior Spider-Man figure later this year/early 2025. Based on the unlockable suit from Spider-Man 2 - which itself is adapted from the comics - there's no denying that this is a suitably formidable take on the "Superior" web-slinger.

Insomniac Games recently announced that New Game+ and a whole host of new costumes will be added to Spider-Man 2 on March 7. Speculation continues to run rampant that Spider-Man 3 will feature the Superior Spider-Man, though that would arguably feel like something of a retread given Pete's villainous turn while wearing the Symbiote.

Back to Hot Toys, though, and new versions of Peter and Miles Morales have already been released, with Venom and Symbiote Spider-Man somewhere on the horizon.

Here's the official description for the figure along with a first look at the accessories included in the box (via GameFragger.com).

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 features an extensive range of suits for fans to explore and enjoy, and one of these suits is the Superior Suit. Inspired by the critically acclaimed Superior Spider-Man comic book series released by Marvel in 2013, this suit brings to life the distinct design and characteristics of the beloved character.

Adding onto the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 collection, Hot Toys is excited to present the 1/6th scale Peter Parker (Superior Suit) collectible figure, bringing more options to your stylish display!

The game-inspired figure features a newly developed masked head with two pairs of interchangeable eye pieces, a hugely-poseable body for dynamic poses, meticulously tailored superior suit in red and black with asymmetric patterns and black spider emblem, newly designed metallic red spider pincers allowing great range of articulations, webbing accessories, hands in different gestures and a figure stand.

Display the Peter Parker (Superior Suit) figure alongside with other Spidey collection! This will sure to be something that you do not want to miss!

Red and Black looks great on Spider-Man. This was one of the designs Marvel was considering for Tom Holland's Spider-Man early on before they settled for the tradition look.

I prefer his first suit, personally.
It’s the one with the claws and basically a sharper, deadlier version of Peter’s suit. I loved the Tabi, claws and protruding goggles.

I love that color of deep metallic red. I had a BMX Mach One that color when I was a kid that I was obsessed with, that my brother took out and got stolen.

It looks cool in paying homage to the one from the comics, but I think the impact and popularity from the videogame will always be more in demand.
