@batz totally agree these previews make it look like this movie is super emphasizing on Johnny Depp and not you know the main character the [frick]ing lone ranger....looks like it could be a good movie to just laugh at and see some good action but i think it will fall short where it counts

Credit the make-up artist then HBC, not Depp, because he's the same character regardless.

I hope people do realize that certain Native American tribes actually wore crows on their heads as headdresses.

I really want to see Depp, Bonham Carter, and Chloe Moretz in an Addams Family movie.

jatevinM what evidence do you have to back up your statement t5hat certain tribes "wore crows on their heads"? If they were worn it would have been for ceremonial purpose not eveyday wear.

The Crow in Montana (where I grew up) and the Apsaroke wore the crow on their head for certain rituals. The challenge for me is that they did not wear them all the time. White face paint was only for ceremonial purposes and when in battle, so I have the same challenge with Tonto seemingly wearing the face paint throughout the film. For Depp and the studio claiming from the get go that they were going to be respectful of the native american heritage and not promote stereotypes, they have ended up doing just that.

Ranger14 My point is that if Native Americans wore birds on their heads they would not have worn them everyday. Ornate headdresses were ceremonial. worn on special occasio0ns and for ceremonies. Depp is misusing the head wear.

This reminds me of the "Tarzan, The Ape Man" from the early '80's. When Bo Derek played Jane, and the movie was more 'bout her then it was of Tarzan. 'Course I did enjoy the natives coverin' her with body paint.

I used to really like Helena Bonham Carter, but now she's just gotten too comfortable doing the same thing over and over again. Even in Les Miserables, no one was surprised when she played Madame Thenardier, and really, she was ONE of the two weak points (the other, more prominent one was Russell Crowe).

Years ago I used to say I wish she would play a different role, but that would mean seeing more of her if she was the lead.

Oh, another movie with Carter & Depp? *Sigh* Burton must be involved then. Another piece of crap.

I liked John Carter. Marketing "regimes" failed that film. The title should have been "Princess of Mars." Even if you kept those same images and just changed the title.., you'd have done at least 15 more opening weekend. Not going to say it. It's not a hate angle dingleberries.., think about it. After seeing the images of a man on the back of an alien on Mars, a title like that would evoke more curiosity in the average theater goer.
