How does this make over a BILLION and Green Lantern is barely making it's budget back? They're equally as shitty. In fact, Green Lantern is probably a better movie....eh....Warner Bros. REALLY should have released Green Lantern in theaters in October. Without doubt it would have made more money going up against NOTHING at the box office...something to consider WB.

@ JWStubner

maybe because it was a better film, lots of action, decent 3d being shot in 3d helps ticket sales.

green lantern was piss poor all round,i liked the shit on oa & sinestro but thats not enough to make it a great film.

3D ticket sales for every film this year was down 40% on last year, no film was boosted by 3D with the exception being Harry Potter which bucked the trend. Transformers had 3D screening that were not even a quarter full in its opening week because people are sick of 3D.

And Green Lantern wasn't a better film than Transformers 3, lord knows what people hating on Transformers expect form a movie that's based on a toy range instead of a literary body of work but the fact is Transformers is made to be entertaining and nothing else. Most people obviously get that, even the Oscar winners who turn up in these films to ham up their performances, its made for laughs and fun and it excels at that for the majority of the worldwide cinemagoing public obviously!

Green Lantern nobody gives a flying sh!t about, he's a guy with a magic ring that makes corny shapes and objects that are also green. he even charges it up in a green battery shaped like a lantern for crissakes! No fight skills, the cliched secret identity thing and goofy alien sidekicks. Why were any of you expecting this to be mass appeal stuff, its for fanboys only. Doesn't matter how accurate they make it, its nothing anyone gives a crap about except the 000.000.001% of fanboys who buy the comic!

Transformers 3 was anything but shitty. The only "bad" part was that is was really long, like Gusto's stomach flabs.
