How do you do a spin off of an anthology that is basically a series of spin offs from the previous seasons?
Origame
Origame - 5/11/2020, 1:10 PM
@inkniron - ...just do that again, but new. Its the disney remake logic.
dracula
dracula - 5/11/2020, 1:14 PM
@inkniron - bet they will end up expanding stories from this spin off into full seasons of the first show

@Origame - It really sounds like he wants to do a Tales from the Crypt type show and Just slap the AHS name on it because it's bankable right now. That's fine, it's just strange logic.

Hopefully this fares better than whatever the hell that Twilight Zone show that came out. Wow, huge disappointment. Was honestly baffled how bad it was considering all the talent.

Ryan Murphy doesn’t exactly inspire hope though.

@regularmovieguy - Want a good anthology show, just watch black mirror

@regularmovieguy - That Twilight Zone reboot sucked. I was excited for it, but saw three of the episodes and then bounced. Not surprising considering Kinberg worked on it. Agreed on Murphy though, Hollywood was so [frick]ing bad. Haha.

@tmp3

Haha..honestly I think Peele and Kinberg are equally to blame- they're both credited on all 20 episodes. The show is straight up bad. A modern day Twilight Zone could be amazing.

tmp3 - 5/11/2020, 1:33 PM
@regularmovieguy - Peele's TV track record seems to be pretty bad. Heard Hunters wasn't very good either. We'll see how Lovecraft Country goes, that looks promising.

@tmp3

Yeah...saw that trailer recently and it definitely has my interest. They got a great lead.

@regularmovieguy - Yeah, dude from Last Black Man in San Francisco. Great actor.

@regularmovieguy - And one of the executive producers was Jordan Peele, odd it didn't strike the landing. Another one of his shows from last year Weird City was also almost an afterthought.

Truth to be told after Get Out and Us, he's been doing so-so-ish. Let's see how Candyman fairs.

I’ve watched Black Mirror

@regularmovieguy - it's a modern day Twilight Zone. I am a fan of both the classic series and Black Mirror. They both have good pacing, tone, interesting subject matter, and solid stories.

Who need this or the new twilight zone, we already have Black Mirror

@dracula - Everyone who doesn't like black mirror or wants something other then black mirror. Everyone could wear just blue but we have to deal with all those other colors.

I spent the last 3 weeks binging AHS on Netflix. Besides 1984 which isnt on Netdkix I've done this. Apocalypse was dope. Hotel and Cult sucked IMO. I'm I'm the minority of liking Roanoke Nightmare. Murder House wasnt a fan of. Asylum was coo. Coven and Freakshow ok.

@MrCamw1 - I really liked asylum and Roanoke. But I stopped at Roanoke. Not even sure why. I think I'm in the minority when I say I hated Coven. It did nothing for me.

I think this is a really cool way to keep the franchise going while also keeping things fresh. I like AHS but some seasons (Freak Show) would have worked better with shorter seasons. Getting some self-contained one-offs seems pretty fun

He confirmed that it will feature one-hour contained stories

Everyone says Tales from the Crypt or Twilight Zone. I'm going with this little forgotten nugget.
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 5/11/2020, 3:16 PM
So instead of a long, over-reaching story arc of 10 episodes about a horror it will now just be a 1-hour lenght and weekly. A bit redundant.

Eugh, no thanks. Ryan Murphy is the worst. I loved the first season of AHS to start with but it got worse and worse. Second season was pretty good. Third I lost interest in. But 4, 5, 6, 7, 8? Dreadful. Didnt watch 9, finally.

Why did he devolve into so much BDSM and gay fetish stuff?

Twilight Zone should have been amazing. Should be an even cooler Black Mirror. But [frick] it was lame.
