He was thinking it was gonna be like a shitty CW show or the crap early Agents of SHIELD or Inhumans crap... [frick] that. Superhero TV series has moved on from those days.. we’re getting film budget, quality type shit in the future thank goodness.

The truth its that beside his big ego, is not an actor that can elevate this kind of material like Halley Atwell or John Bernthal, without a big budget backing him up or a better or famous actor like Sebastian Stan or the Rock doing the heavy lift it would be pretty forgettable like his Black Mirror episode or Altered Carbon SS2.

Maybe it's just me, but Mackie strikes me as an ego-driven douche.

@GothamSon - Yeah, it may well be just you. I get no such impression of Mackie.

@pclark - Maybe you are trying to defend him but most humans have an ego problem. He may not be any more douchy than anyone else though.

@GothamSon - I notice he likes to joke around and test people's patience with off-the-cuff banter. He doesn't seem to take much of what he says seriously so I wouldn't say he's a douche. But I can see how it might come off as confrontational to some.

@generictheeric - This maybe it.

I'm so glad we're moving towards high budget TV shows. Comic books work way better as TV shows. They work much better with the serial ongoing nature of the books.

When you're working on movies, each Batman actor is realistically only going to see about 4-5 villains over their career. But the batman catalog has at least 20 villains that are interesting enough to warrant screen time. Same with Spider-man.

The X-Men have so many roster changes that you could dedicate a season or more to one cast, and change naturally over time instead of only introducing one or two characters per movie, often at the expense of established characters.

Over-arching threats like Thanos can have more impact throughout the season, instead of one or two teasers before they are the main villain. Build them up across a season, and have them rock the finale.

Yeah, I'm glad Marvel is allowing a good budget for these shows. Sure as hell wouldn't want to get another dud like Inhumans.

@ModHaterSLADE - you think a good budget would've saved that s@#$?
