A brutal and crazy Captain America? Can't wait!

@DARKSIDEIS - To be fair Cap America is already out their mirking cats. Unless it's Winter Soldier Cap don't give an f about unfettered brutality. So I don't really see the difference.

Phew. I was expecting it to be well worse than that based off the headline.

@MosquitoFarmer - I mean, obviously the actual finished piece will be more brutal. More dramatic camera angle, sound effects, music etc.

@MosquitoFarmer -

When it's from a distance, with no sound, and unedited, I can see how it would not seem so bad. I'm betting this won't be the case when we see that scene in it's finished form and in context.

So is US Agent an anti hero or something?
UXASIS

@dracula - He definitely is a government made hero.

I think Zemo manipulates him into going crazy.

It is strange that they are filming in the Czech Republic right now.

CR has the worst Covid results from all over Europe. You can't be on public spaces without a mask.

I guess all the actors and crew were tested.

@DARKSIDEIS - The cast and crew will be in their own secure bubble, likely not going anywhere outside of the set and their hotels/homes.

How long will this thing take to film, like damn... Props to them of course but even before COVID struck it felt like they were shooting for ages at that point.

Honestly, looking back, I wonder if they were even gonna make the original August release regardless.

I guess this show still had a whole bunch to film. Looks awesome though. Going to be a fun watch. Live action US Agent, never would I have imagined reading West Coast Avengers back in the day.

So this man is the Homelander version of Cap. Also is he trying to decapitate that mans?

The guy playing him is really underrated, IMO. I think he could be a suprise standout in this.

Anyone who's seen him in Playtest (Black Mirror) knows what I'm talking about.

@L0RDbuckethead - that episode introduced me to him as an actor, he surprised the hell out of me. He's also very good in that Dazed and Confused spin-off "Everybody wants Some"

I wish he'd play a bigger role in the MCU though. Someone on the same level as Cyclops, Ghost Rider, Wolverine or basically anyone from the Avengers.
I only say that because I think Nomad will only be a one time deal, and probably die in at the end of Falcon & Winter Soilder.
But hey who knows? I may be wrong and his role might get expanded throughout the MCU

@L0RDbuckethead - Wyatt Russell. Goldie Haun & Kurt “Ego” Russell’s son. Good actor but doesn’t seem physically right for the role. But I’m excited to the finished product nonetheless.

@Superfan1 - His performance is OVERLORD convinced me (and probably Marvel as well) that he can be unhinged.

Interested to see how they handle his origin. Is he going to be a client of the Power Broker or cooked up in a military lab? Is he going to have his little promo tours with his BUCkies? If he does, are we going to get Battlestar as well? Inquiring minds want to know.

@TheDoctor1225 "Anyway , I wonder if Walker will already be aggressive or if they give him a special type of serum that has side effects that make him more brutal & unhinged even though he was a good man before?"

I think this would be a very interesting angle, and it has callbacks to Marvel Comics' own history of the character.

Some longtime Marvel fans may recall how Marvel retconned the presence of Captain America (and Bucky) from post-WWII through to when Cap was found in ice and revived for The Avengers. Basically, Marvel set out a series of characters who assumed the identify of Cap after he went missing at the end of WWII, with his MIA being kept secret.

The third of these was a 1950s history professor who was so obsessed with Cap that he had plastic surgery to change his appearance to that of Steve Rodgers (!); the Govt enlisted him and one of his fanboy students to become Captain America and Bucky. The thing is, Faux Cap uncovered a copy of the Super Soldier serum but one which didn't mention the 'Vita-Rays' which apparently helped stabilise the subject's psychology.

Without the Vita-Rays, 1950s Cap and Bucky go off the rails, becoming violently paranoid against suspected communists (yep, 1950s!), seeing the Red Menace everywhere etc.

In the end the Govt places them in cryogenic storage, eventually curing them of those side-effects and Faux Cap becomes Nomad.

So, it appears that 'John Walker' already has a fair bit of this arc incorporated, but adding an imperfect copy of the Super Solider Serum would make a lot of sense!
