The fourth episode of Ahsoka is now streaming on Disney+, and while "Fallen Jedi" left us with a lot to discuss, this report (via SFFGazette.com) is actually based on an Easter Egg from the season premiere that seemed to fly under most people's radars.

Right at the beginning of "Master and Apprentice," as Ahsoka Tano is exploring the ruins of a planet that used to be home to the witch-like Nightsisters of Dathomir, strange whispers can be heard as the former Jedi seeks out the star-map she hopes will lead her to Ezra Bridger.

We didn't recognize the voice at the time, but one fan has done some research, and if you listen very closely, it does appear to be a line of dialogue spoken by Darth Maul in the animated Star Wars Rebels series as he lay dying in Obi-Wan Kenobi's arms after the Jedi master was forced to cut down his old enemy: "Is he the chosen one?"

This is interesting for a number of reasons (though whether it will be addressed again in the show remains to be seen), but, if this is indeed Maul's dialogue, it would explain Sam Witwer - who voiced the Emperor's former apprentice in Rebels, The Clone Wars, and more - getting a mention in the credits.

There was speculation that Witwer might have reprised his role as Starkiller from the Force Unleashed video games, and appear as a live-action take on the character when mysterious Inquisitor Marrok was unmasked, but based on the events of the most recent episode (no spoilers!), we'd say this is a far more likely explanation.

Have a listen for yourselves at the link below, and let us know what you think.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

The series stars Rosario Dawson in the title role, with Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, with Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Kevin Kiner was announced as the series' composer.

Ahoska is written by executive producer Dave Filoni, alongside executive producers Favreau, Kennedy, Wilson, and Beck. Gilchrist is co-executive producer. The series’ directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel and Rick Famuyiwa.

It's not Maul...it's the Son.

@jst5 - I could actually totally see Witwer playing “The Son” in live action

Look up Witwer's IMDb. He's been "additional voices" in all five theatrical Disney Star Wars movies, plus random background characters in Rebels, Resistance, Fallen Order, Jedi Survivor, the Vader Immortal VR game, and I know he voiced the stormtrooper who arrested Cassian in Andor (though that one's not listed for some reason). None of those featured Galen Marek. Dude's a talented voice actor who's a favorite at Lucasfilm. That's all.

Starkiller is an interesting character for sure but he never appeared in Rebels and would have definitely been the one sent after Ahsoka. So I think Disney has no interest with that character.

Is it just me or was that fight with baylan kinda slow paced and amateurish. Like isn’t it a fight between Jedi knights

@campblood - I loved it. Not over the top but had great internists with Ashoka’s samurai style and Ray’s knight with a broadsword style. Good stuff

@campblood - and the two armatures just hacking at each other like angry kids. All worked for me.

@campblood - it was a decent fight but it felt more like a really good “fan film” fight.

@vectorsigma - is he the troll?
I notice when trolls don't get the attention they so desperately crave, they disappear like a puff of smoke

@Vigor - yeah, that one, there are occasional hits that someone engages with that account, miss it tbh

I never got the StarKiller theories. I thought there was a decent chance he was Ezra (and I still think he will return as an anti-hero) but it never made sense to introduce a character like starkiller in that way. Honestly him being a reanimated inquisitor controlled by a night sister was a nice surprise and deep cut that fans will get and won’t effect casual viewers.

@MrDandy - I don't know. If I were a casual viewer watching a show and someone was unmasked as some character that is supposed to be a big deal and I had no idea who it was? I wouldn't like that feeling at all.

And this would be a really weird place to have him show up. He played an important part in creating the Rebellion. Hell, without him the Rebellion wouldn't have been created. At least not the same Rebellion we know.

So if they decide to make those games canon, I personally think introducing Starkiller like this would be a really weird way to do it.

Is this character Star killer? Nah. And I doubt we'll ever see him in live action. But I hope we do. I'd love for a Visions style live action movie, that's just Force Unleashed. Just go crazy.
