Today's episode of The Book of Boba Fett, appropriately titled "The Return of The Mandalorian," (check out a recap here) took a break from the main storyline to focus on Din Djarin, but it also appeared to feature the live-action debut of a character Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order fans should be very familiar with.

When the bounty hunter returns to Tatooine to collect his new ship, we learn that Mos Eisley mechanic Peli Motto has a new droid working for her, and it looks a lot like BD-1!

This adorable droid was introduced in the Fallen Order video game, becoming a loyal companion to Cal Kestis and joining him on his adventures. The little fella who helps Djarin with his repairs in TBOBF is clearly the same model, but it may not actually be BD-1. The color design is different, for one, and since this show takes place quite a while after Fallen Order, it means BD would need to have been separated from Kestis and found his way to a completely new part of the galaxy.

We may get confirmation from Lucasfilm or director Bryce Dallas Howard at some point, but for now, you can check out an image of BD-1(?) below.

@TJJones96 - But the show’s main protagonist has repainted his armor several times.

Boba Fett has 3 on screen color changes. I think that sets a precedent that color modification exists in Star Wars canon.

Why because there's only one BD model in the entire galaxy? It was sure nice to see it though.
The whole episode was a pleasant surprise. From the start, Mando did in 5 minutes what we wanted Boba to do for 4 episodes.
You can also see where they decided to blow their budget. The whole episode had good production value. That bombing scene on Mandalore was awesome.

I hope it's not. I love overlapping narratives and all, but the universe sorta feels smaller and smaller when all these characters keep running into each other.

"Did you know that Emperor Palpatines apprentice Darth Vaders son Luke Skywalker fought and defeated a Mandalorian Bounty Hunter who was the Son of the guy they used to Clone Vaders Army once fought with another Mandalorian who knew a mecahnic who had the old Droid of another Jedi who....."

You see what I mean? Feels a little too.... small. Like this is a galaxy filled with... I mean you get it.

So I hope this is a different droid.

@kylo0607 - Glad to see they're going for a sequel. Nowadays it feels like every continuation after a long break gets a franchise reboot.

@4thMaster - I can't even describe to you how excited I am for this.

Back in 2007, everyone in my group of friends was trying to run the original game on their rig or trying to build one JUST for this game.

It was insane and also the good old times where you had to get an Nvidia 8800 GTX to make this play somehow smooth.

It's likely just another BD droid, these droids are mass-produced after all, but it's still a nice nod to feature a BD droid.

My guess is this is just another "BD" unit and not the character "BD-1" from JFO game, but that's how I took it. Esp since there are MANY other "R2" units out there, not just "R2-D2". And "BD" can be short for literally all the names like "R2" is used often. This is "BD-2" Right now!
