As much as I loved all the episodes , the emotional impact of chapter 15 (the believer) had me hooked. When they get overwhelmed by the pirates and Din Djarin just lets out a sigh and braces for another fight, that was what sold it for me. This season really knocked it out of the park.

Once again, Josh's lack of taste has completely compromised a list. Nothing is in it 's correct place.

@inkniron - His list is subjective just like yours. I don’t agree with parts of it either as it’s his PERSONAL ranking. No reason to insult him personally.

I'm consistently impressed with the suspense and tension that the various directors are able to build. The music is a big part of that too. In the 'Rescue' scene the music building between the Dark Troopers, the 'rescuer' moving through the halls, and the mandos pinned down in the bridge had me on the edge of my seat.

I think overall season 2 is good.

The Siege: ‘mostly an extended action sequence’
The Tragedy: ‘essentially an extended action sequence’

Josh, never failing to write effortlessly awfully! Plus who’s the ‘we’ who weren’t looking forward to Robert Rodriguez’s episode? Same way you criticised Peyton Reed who knocked it out the park n round the world with the finale? Bizarre stances again

Although I do agree with most of the order, aside from i’d put The Believer at number 2.

Ahsoka was easily the highlight for me. Loved the Kurosawa influence of that episode.

The Marshal in second, hell no.

My ranking is this one:

1 - The Rescue
2 - The Jedi
3 - The Heiress
4 - The Tragedy
5 - The Siege
6 - The Believer
7 - The Marshal
8 - The Passanger

It's interesting how important each episode has become. You look at chapter 5: Gunslinger. Last year it may have been the weakest episode, but it set the stage for Boba Fett returning (eventually getting his own spin-off). It also introduced Fenic, who was an important character towards the end of the season.

It's probably different from the one I posted earlier, but this is mine:

1. The Marshal
2. The Rescue
3. The Believer
4. The Passenger
5. The Heiress
6. The Jedi
7. The Tragedy
8. The Siege

Overall, I really like this season. Probably more than the first. Each episode felt more unique in comparison to last season. Definitely wanna see Reed return.

All of the episodes were good, so ranking them is almost meaningless. Still, here's mine.
1. The Jedi
2. The Marshal
3. The Rescue
4. The Tragedy
5. The Believer
6. The Heiress
7. The Passenger
8. The Siege

I truly don't get why people are ranking The Tragedy (Chapter 14) so high aside from some cool action shots I thought that episode was the worst.

"We gotta go buddy."
"We gotta go buddy."
"We gotta go buddy."
"We gotta go buddy."

They repeat the basic idea like 3 times in between nothing but action shots of Boba and Fennec. Overall I think it was still an enjoyable episode because I think that for all the episodes of the Mandalorian so far, but it certainly was the worst of the group.

@FearTheLiving - Return of Boba Fett after 35 year wait. Most significant scenes and action sequences for Fett, ever. Payoff for Fett armor storyline from season opener, and clear set-up for mystery Jedi appearance later. Plus, first time Mando and Child were significantly separated. There was a lot of story implications stuffed into that episode. Plus, Rodriguez fight sequences are great and well choreographed.

My wife sold me out and told everybody I teared up when I realized it was Luke Skywalker.

I'd call her a liar but then I'd be lying.

I liked the whole season. I think the last place would go to “The Tragedy” though... such a clunky set up and all blatant fan-service for what a bad-ass Boba Fett is. I found the whole thing pretty artless.

I really liked “The Believer” for the conversations with Bill Burr... I didn’t care for him much in the first season, but this reinvention really worked. I also liked the Frog Lady quite a bit... the Star Wars universe is more fun for having her in it. (I’d buy a Frog Lady action figure for my desk).

And of course, I geeked out at the big Jedi moments, which was nice for a change after 6 movies of Jedis being kind of tedious.

"The Marshal" over "The Jedi" is just an attempt to make this list seem different.

In reality, there's no way anybody, Star Wars fan or not, can say that they enjoyed that episode over Ashoka Tano's debut.

The entire season was a vehicle to market tie ins and spin offs; pretty much the entire plot was written specifically around that goal. Knowing that it really comes down to which episode had the best fanservice. That said Im going to put "The Jedi" as my top episode. It was beautifully shot, provided the fanservice AND most the plot forward well.
