@kazuma - honestly I'm convinced the people here would be defending it to no end if feige said it was in the mcu and there was an end credits scene revealing Peter was a previous host.

Venom has a history of being something of a goofball. How many times was Venom swinging through the city singing "Strangers in the Night?" There was a Professor Hulk/Venom team up issue built around that stupid SNL Hans and Frans "pump you up!" joke.

Wait, for some of these you even state that it was taken from the comics, but you personally don't like the idea. Fix the name of the article for "5 things I don't like about Venom". You just don't seem a big fan of the character in the first place. Only reasonable complaint there is the lack of Spider-Man.

Kinda wish they just continued the Amazing Spider-Man universe. Even though we might not see Garfield again, atleast we know the universe and that there is a Peter Parker.

Aside from Sony's undying thirst to ride the coattails of the MCU, I really don't understand why they wouldn't have just added a new Spider-Man into that first Venom movie as a partial antagonist to Venom in the first and second acts. Start the movie with the "breakup" between the symbiote and Spidey, have Brock function in pretty much the same manner except now Spidey's showing up all the time and that's causing the Symbiote to force Eddie into crazy fights he doesn't want to be a part of. At the end you can have Spidey get beat and Venom saves him yada yada yada. That movie writes itself and easily makes more money, plus it actually makes everything much more interesting and fresh
