Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy is rightly considered one of the greatest series of superhero movies ever made. However, despite obviously being based on the Caped Crusader's comic book adventures, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises were very much grounded in reality.

There were plenty of nods to the source material and an exciting spin on characters like The Joker and Two-Face, but Bruce Wayne's Batsuit was rooted in the real world.

Zack Snyder went some way in making up for that in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with his The Dark Knight Returns-inspired effort, but for those of you wondering what Christian Bale's costume would look like with the classic grey, blue, and yellow colour scheme from the comic books, Hot Toys has you covered.

We first shared photos of the new "WB 100" 1/6th scale figure earlier this year, but with its release now imminent, we have additional shots showing this Batman in action.

Honestly, we're not sure what to make of it. This might have worked on the big screen, but the design doesn't necessarily lend itself to multiple colours. Perhaps The Brave and the Bold's Caped Crusader will head down this route? We're definitely expecting a comic-accurate approach to Batman in the DCU, anyway.

As for this figure, it's obviously based on Batman's comic book appearance and features a Batman cowled head with interchangeable lower faces and separate rolling eyeballs. It also boasts a poseable body, a Batsuit which highlights its metallic blue and matte grey colour scheme with a finely tailored fabric cape, signature Bat-gadgets including the EMP rifle with an LED light-up function, the sticky bomb gun, the grapnel gun, Batarangs, and mini mines.

The figure even includes a swarm of bats, a bat-emblem-inspired diorama accessory, and a staged figure base.

Recently, The Dark Knight Trilogy's writer, David S. Goyer, was asked if he and Nolan would ever consider reuniting for a fourth instalment of the franchise. "I don’t think that's ever going to happen," he admitted. "And I wouldn’t want to do another Batman project either."

We have more than enough Batman-led projects to keep us going, especially as Matt Reeves' The Batman series will run concurrently with whatever DC Studios has planned for Bruce Wayne on screen.

The grey works surprisingly well, although I think the blue should've been black in this case

People who actaully think Batmans cowl is blue instead of black, reflecting lights because comic printing reasons are scary to me.

@CamtonoOfBeskar - well depends on the version. There have been times his cowl was genuinely blue.

But yeah, it is a pet peeve of mine when people say the batsuit from tas is blue 🙄.

This is kinda a problem with most of these black suits. People still don't get spiderman 2099 is in a black suit. It's kind of a miracle venom remained black.

@CamtonoOfBeskar - He started out with a black outfit with blue highlights but for decades, he had a blue cape and cowl, gloves, and boots. In your profile pic, he’s clearly wearing a blue cowl with a black part on the front of it. Ideally, those parts of his costume would’ve been black, but they were not.

This suit was not made with blue in mind, and it shows. They may be able to get away with gray and black, but the blue looks completely out of place here.

I'm not sure why some people seem to think Bale's version had all black outfits. The Dark Knight and Rises definitely had grey batsuits lined with black to give more definition. Ben Affleck's was NOT the first grey suit.

I preferred the Begins suit, but maybe it's because that film far more like a comic-based film.

A mockup from Reddit shows, however, we could've gotten the best of both worlds and it'd still fit in with a gritty reality.
