she must be covered head to tie at all times to fight back against the male gaze.

She did fine in the role, but man...I really wish they had brought a more comic accurate version of the character to the MCU. I feel this way for a couple of reasons. First, The Taskmaster in the comics is just cool as [frick]. Second, in Black Widow I think that a OP arrogant, male super spy would have made a more interesting foil for Natasha.

@harryba11zack - A male stunt double worked for her? I don't give a shit about that. I bet they used some CGI as well. That's all just part of movie magic. I just wanted a more comic accurate version of this character. The comic version is way more interesting, IMO.

@Izaizaiza - "She did fine in the role"....... what was the "fine" part? her head CGI'd over his body? dude at least try to give the credit were it was deserved.

@Izaizaiza - I would’ve loved a more comic accurate version as well because it would be really cool to see Taskmaster wipe the floor with people, with a cocky arrogant attitude - until meeting Moonknight.

We would also need to see a more harden violent Moonknight instead of just images of his after math.

Nothing against the actress, but that was such a lame take on Taskmaster.

JustAWaffle - 4/26/2024, 3:15 AM
@mountainman - I think it’s less that it was a woman and more that it was a mentally disabled walking vegetable puppet of a character. No personality or motivation behind her at all and no build up as to why she’d have superhuman strength besides a mystery red gas.

The sex change from the original is true to form for modern Disney, but they could have at least tried to make it interesting.

Unlike others , I am interested to see more of her in this since I think there’s potential with this version of the character honestly…

Yes , she was mainly a brainwashed assassin/weapon in Black Widow but you know who else was more or less that…Bucky from TWS who is also in this movie.

For example , I could see someone like him who has gone through his redemption arc see who he used to be in Antonia due to the similar experience they have had which could lead him to guide her in finding out who she is and gain her own measure of absolution.

@TheVisionary25 - this is exactly what I look forward to, but also not. The Avengers worked great because they all had distinct personalities and backgrounds, and thus have to learn to overcome that and work together.

The Thunderbolts though are all supersoldiers that have broken free from their controlling employers. Don't see what kind of clash can come from that.

@bkmeijer1 - I don’t think they are all like that

They are all broken and perhaps morally grey people which could lead to interesting conflict & drama.

I could see someone like Bucky being more “lighter” grey while Yelena is darker etc.

I think this was Disney Marvel first f*ck up after Avengers:Endgame.
Scarilian
Scarilian - 4/25/2024, 5:00 PM
@marvel72 -
The first [frick]-up was Endgame, the Blip, the Timeskip, the character writing, the time travel, the destruction of Thanos, the handling of Captain Marvel, etc...

The second [frick]-up was not recasting Chadwick Boseman, so the legacy of Black Panther died with the actor.

The third [frick]-up was not re-grounding or rebooting after Endgame

This is the fourth [frick]-up specifically relating to the movies, though they also [frick]ed up by encouraging their audience to watch their content outside the cinema which has resulted in people openly pirating their content rather than paying them.

The first big mess up to me was in captain marvel when they ruined Nick Fury and how he lost his eye, turning him into a complete joke.

@HulkisHoly - I meant after Endgame, this was start of the MCU going downhill.

Captain Marvel was probably it though when you think right back.
