Off topic speaking of Ang Lee I watches Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon last night. I had a hard time believing the man who made that beauty made The Incredible Hulk and Gemini Man.

@MrCamw1 - Crouching is such a masterpiece. Its like he painted Starry Night and then went onto this:

@MrCamw1 - I still remember how hyped I was when those early reactions to Gemini Man were so glowing... then the crushing disappointment when the actual reviews dropped, lol. Still haven't seen it, but Billy Lynn was a big disappointment from him too. Dude went from an incredible artist to a dude making glorified tech demos.

@tmp3 - I havent seen Gemini man either, honestly I will at some point but not anytime soon. Billy Lynn I've never heard of but I'll look into.

@tmp3 - I take that as a challenge in these times we live in!!!

@tmp3 - in some fairness, that movie was supposed to be shown in 4k which theaters simply cant show. It doesnt defend it entirely (namely story wise) but yeah.

@HeavyMetal4Life - guilty pleasure for me.

@MrCamw1 - I was 9 when this came out, and the kid in me was like whoa this awesome. Then Incredible Hulk came out a few years later and I reflect on the 2003 movie and it was clear there was no comparison (and TIH isn't even a great movie). So I'd say TIH made the 2003 film look as realistically bad as it really was, if that makes sense.

@HeavyMetal4Life - no I get ya. Same thing watched it as a kid and thought hulk was the greatest big thing ever. Only rewatching it in prep for the MCU Hulk did I realize what a fool I was. Like I said to someone else though Nick Nolte in the movie makes the film.

I only watched Hulk 3 times its entirety. Twice in the theater when I was 8 and once on DVD. After that I only skipped to all the Hulk parts because the rest is just that boring. Then I just stopped watching it altogether.

I think at the bare minimum they should've gone with the model hulk instead of all cgi. That was apparently the original idea and at least for the time using that model for close shots then cgi for action scenes would've at least been more appealing to look at.

Not the best movie but still the only Hulk movie that did a deep dive into the character of Bruce Banner/Hulk. Norton's version touched on it. Avenger Hulk is when he became a cartoon and running joke. Best looking, but worst adaptation.

I loved this movie as a kid. I haven't seen the whole movie from start to finish since to preserve my memory of it lol, but the scenes I have watched again still hold up in my opinion. Elfman's score is is incredible, the action is great, and Nick Nolte is [frick]ing awesome. I always viewed the Hulk as a tragic character, and I think this movie did a pretty good job of showing that.

But I did always think it looked dumb af how they made Hulk like 20 ft tall.

It can get boring af here and there but all in all, this movie is underrated.
