Gotham Knights showrunners James Stoteraux and Chad Fiveash have confirmed that the Batman TV series isn't going to find new life on another network, closing the door on any season 2 talks. Check it out...

Nextar acquired The CW last year and immediately started making changes to the struggling network. The clock was ticking on the Arrowverse, regardless, and with DC Studios plotting an interconnected slate of big and small screen projects, that world's time has reached its end.

Earlier this week, we learned Superman & Lois has been given a reprieve courtesy of a fourth, and likely final, season on The CW before we meet a new Man of Steel in 2025's Superman: Legacy

Gotham Knights, on the other hand, was cancelled and it's now been confirmed that the Batman series won't head to a new home.

Here's a statement shared by showrunners James Stoteraux and Chad Fiveash:

As you can see, they point out that despite there being a lot of love for the show at the studio, they "[weren't] able to find a new home for it." Putting the cancellation down to "severe belt-tightening," Stoteraux and Fiveash made it clear Gotham Knights has reached its conclusion.

"The two of us feel like we owe it to the fans to be realistic about the chances of the show continuing. At this point it’s virtually impossible. There’s a million mind-numbing production logistics working against us at this point, and resurrecting the show would be extremely cost prohibitive."

Gotham Knights isn't the only noteworthy series scrapped by The CW in recent weeks as Supernatural spin-off The Winchesters has also been cancelled. Unfortunately, that's also failed to secure a second season elsewhere.

The DC TV series has been averaging 719,000 viewers and a 0.1 demo rating. While that's not awful for a series on a network like this one, numbers like that aren't going to blow the minds of network and streaming executives looking to add more content to their platforms.

Give me Two Face by Misha Collins and get rid of this.

@Repian - Yeah this particular story line and how they were going about it is one of the more interesting things about the show.

Good. All these shows were total crap.
And I will happy to be rid of them forever.

Let Gunn do his own thing now.
Without all this stupid baggage.

I hope we see a DCU Show based on Morrison's work.

@Repian - I could actually see Gunns directorial style working well for that run. I think the natural comedy that comes from the odd pairing of Dick and Damien and the original villains Grant created. Gunn with his dark humor might actually work on that run.

Spoiler alert: (since none of you will ever see this show)

It's revealed batman was responsible for the deaths of his adopted son's parents. He adopted turner purely out of guilt of his own failure.

Yeah, I wonder why it was canceled.

@Origame - Wasn't he also responsible for their deaths in Forever? Ok, he tried to help but he failed.

@CoHost - nah not really.

In forever, two face held the circus hostage with an explosive. The Grayson family tried to get rid of it then two face killed them. Bruce did everything he could, even being willing to reveal his identity to stop all that.

@Origame - I've interpreted that fairly differently.

@Origame - I think it’s a fake out. They haven’t fully revealed the context yet

@noahthegrand - I think you're giving them too much credit. They rag on batman any chance they get, and did basically the same thing in batwoman.

@Origame - see I’m not sure because they initially imply Batman killed the joker in this universe (which is a trope cw keeps doing that I hate) but then if I’m remembering correctly it’s implied that information was given out by Jane Doe, who is a very unreliable character who was already lying about her daughter being the joker’s daughter

@noahthegrand - I really don't remember that. But since they revealed she is actually Harvey's kid there's really nothing worth giving in addressing jokers fate ever again. And you said it yourself. Cw loves having batman kill joker.

Besides, we learn that from the court of owls. And the way its presented its not even they revealed it themselves. They instead have turner himself realize the truth based on all the evidence.

Yeah the shows not great by any means although at times it does show a bit of potential of what it could have been. But still I rate it heads above "The Inhumans" which to me is the absolute bottom of the barrel. Just my opinion of course.

Your show sucks and nobody is watching it, it's not production logistics.

Meh. Surprised it even got a full season. With that being said, Collins as Dent is at least solid.
