The Witcher season 3 is now available to stream on Netflix, and the review embargo lifted this morning.

So far, critics seems to be impressed with this latest outing for Geralt of Rivia and his magic-wielding friends, as the season is currently sitting at 83% on Rotten Tomatoes (though the Audience Score has dropped to 49%).

Only 24 reviews have been counted so far, so this score is likely to fluctuate, but it's worth noting that the second season was also very well-received with 95%.

This third season has been praised for being more coherent and compelling than the previous two, with improved action and monster VFX. Star Henry Cavill also comes in for a lot of plaudits for giving his take on the titular monster hunter a proper send-off.

No, Geralt isn't going to die (there's at least one more season to go), but this will be Cavill's final time playing the character, with Liam Hemsworth set to take over for season 4 and beyond.

If you want a taste of what to expect from season 3, Netflix has released the opening scene online.

They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.

The Witcher season 3 also stars Joey Batey as Jaskier, Eamon Farren as Cahir, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Mimî M. I've enjoyed the two previous seasons despite their flaws, so I will give this a go. Not sure that I am interested beyond Henry Cavill's run though. I will wait until I see Hemsworth in the role before deciding, but I just dont think he is rough enough to play the part.

Not liking this part one of two bs like they here and with Stranger Things. So annoying we have to wait a while month for just three remaining episodes.

I need to catch up. Seems they finally land the found family dynamic in this Season between Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer.

Off-topic: new evidence about the Jonathan Majors case has come up. Could change things but not for his sake.

It's not going to see a season 4. By the time production rolls around after these strikes more problems will come and they'll call it quits.

Can someone tell me why Yennifer can't just portal her and Ciri to Aretuza?
